Moss Removal and Gutters in Everett
Gentle moss removal and gutter cover and cleaning, the two services printed right on the side of our truck.
Chapter 01
Why moss is more than a green stain on the north slope
Anyone who lives in Everett or elsewhere in Snohomish County knows the look: a shaded roof slowly turning green. It is easy to treat as cosmetic. It is not. Moss behaves like a sponge laid across the shingles. It soaks up rain, stays wet through the dry spells, and presses that moisture against the roof surface for weeks at a time.
Over seasons that does real work. Moss roots into the seams between shingles and can lift the tabs it grows under, which opens a path for wind driven rain. Dead growth and the debris it traps wash down toward the gutters and the roof edge, where they clog the very channels meant to carry water away. A roof that cannot drain is a roof that ages early.
Moss is also a reliable clue about the roof beneath it. Where it grows thick, water is lingering, and lingering water is what shortens a roof's life.

Gentle removal, and gutters that let water leave the edge
Gentle is the right word to hold onto. Shingles are protected by a surface layer of granules, and harsh blasting can strip them along with the moss. The goal of careful removal is to lift the growth off without tearing up the roof underneath, because a clean roof with damaged shingles is a trade you do not want.
Gutter cover and cleaning is the second service on the truck, and it finishes the job. Cleared gutters carry water off the roof edge instead of backing it under the first row of shingles, and covers help keep leaves and needles from collecting again between visits. Moss removal without working gutters just sends the next load of debris to the same place.
You do not have to guess which of these your home needs. A roofer can look at the roof and the gutter line together, and you can reach the Everett office at (425) 252-0444 to ask about moss or gutters before anything is scheduled.
Chapter 03
When moss is a sign of something bigger
Sometimes cleaning the surface is the whole answer. Sometimes the moss has been sitting on the roof for years and the damage underneath is already done. Soft decking, brittle shingles and flashing that has stopped sealing are all common under a mossy roof, and no amount of scraping brings them back.
That is where honesty counts. One of the pillars Pacific Pride works from is honest recommendations, not whatever is easiest. If the roof needs a repair, the roofer says so. If it is at the end of its life, you hear that plainly, with the replacement option explained before you commit to anything.
Mossy roofs under mature trees are common around Snohomish County, and the answer is rarely the same twice, which is why the look comes first. The easiest way to know which situation you are in is a look from someone on the roof.
